WGNO (New Orleans) - Drier air will begin to work its way into the area on Monday and with the drier air will come hotter temperatures. Overnights will continue to be warm and muggy all week long as temperatures remain in the upper 70s on the south shore and low to middle 70s on the north shore. Afternoons are where we'll see the biggest changes. Instead of rain chances every day with highs near 90, we will see only about a 10% or less chance for a pop-up storm with highs in the low to middle 90s Monday and Tuesday and then in the middle to upper 90s through next weekend. Heat index values will be over 100 degrees so make sure to take plenty of air conditioned or shade breaks and drink plenty of fluids if you'll be outside for long periods of time.
