Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is out indefinitely with a fractured ring finger on his left hand.

The club made the announcement Friday afternoon, hours before New Orleans played at Philadelphia.

Pelicans Executive Vice President David Griffin, in a lengthy diatribe, said Williamson has been fouled hard, repeatedly all season.

The club gave no timeable for Zion’s return. The Pelicans are a game and half behind 10th place San Antonio for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
