For the Pelicans, it is a rare bird indeed. A road win.
Anthony Davis scored 31 points, and guard Norris Cole added 16 points and 12 rebounds as New Orleans beat Dallas Saturday night, 105-98.
The win was only the fourth on the road for the Pelicans all season. New Orleans improved to 11-22 on the season.
Ryan Anderson’s three broke an 87 all tie in the fourth quarter. Moments later, Eric Gordon’s three pointer gave the Pelicans a 95-91 lead.
The Pelicans have a chance to improve rapidly. New Orleans plays 14 games, half against teams with losing records.
“It lightens up, but it doesn’t mean anything unless we come away with wins,” head coach Alvin Gentry told NBA.com.
The Pelicans host Dallas Wednesday night, and Indiana Friday night at Smoothie King Center.
