BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) — At LSU’s Pro Day, linebacker Deion Jones posted a 4.38 40-yard dash.
He shaved off time from his NFL Combine 4.59 40-yard dash.
Jones said he got ‘psyched out’ by the atmosphere of the Combine.
“I lost focus on the little things. When I was training, we worked on it day in and day out. It paid off.”
Jones said he was shooting for a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash at Pro Day. He said he never ran a 4.38 before.
His vertical jump also improved at Pro Day. He boasted a 35.5”. At the Combine, he jumped 33.0”.
Jones led the Tigers in tackles (100) and tackles for loss (13.5) his senior year at LSU. He played in 51 games at LSU and started 11 times. He finished his career with 165 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
