One man killed in overnight shooting in Covington

COVINGTON, La. - One man is dead after an overnight shooting in Covington.  The case is the latest to be profiled on the Wheel of Justice.

Officers responding to reports of gunfire shortly before 2 a.m. found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds sitting in the front seat of a Hyundai in the 1000 block of North Florida St., according to Covington Chief of Police Tim Lentz.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Antoine Collar from Denham Springs.

Collar was visiting a woman and was preparing to leave when he was shot, Lentz said.

No drugs were found at the scene, and a motive has yet to be determined.

Callers may remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $5,000.00.

So far, more than 338 people have been booked after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
