NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - It's right there on the menu at Chris' Specialty Meats in New Orleans.

It's tiger sausage.

Can it really be what you think it is?  It just can't be true!

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood goes behind the scenes, that means behind the counter, to find out what the recipe really is.

It's on the same menu as Black Angus Ribeye Hamburgers, Stuffed Shrimp, Salmon Burgers and Chicken Sausage.

Chris' Specialty Meats says it has Cajun recipes made by Cajun Hands.

The New Orleans location is the newest.  There's one in Prairieville.  And the original is in Baton Rouge.

Here's a little history about the place that's Louisiana born and Louisiana proud.

Chris and Twyla LaChausee originally founded the market in Maurice, Louisiana.  They moved the location to Baton Rouge where it has earned a great national reputation.

The reputation comes from winning national awards and providing sausages, turducken, steaks, chops, smoked and cured meats.

The recipes come from Cajun roots.  Customers around Louisiana and across the country are fans.
