GRETNA, La. (WGNO) – Three teens accused of shooting a cab driver multiple times while he sat in the driver’s seat Tuesday evening are behind bars, Gretna police said.
According to Gretna Deputy Police Chief Anthony Christiana, police received numerous calls of gunfire in the area of Franklin Street and Rupp Street last night.
The callers also told dispatchers they saw several men running from the scene.
While en route Gretna police noticed two men running. Those men failed to stop and a foot chase began in the area of Burmaster Street. It continued into Algiers, according to the police report.
K-9 units were used to aid the officers.
At that time, police found Jonah Brown, 17, hiding underneath a home.
Around 4 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested Ivory Warren, 18, and Tavon Corley, 19.
Prosecutors have charged Brown and Warren with first degree murder.
Corley is charged with accessory to first degree murder.
Brown was previously convicted for violent crimes
