Donald Trump selects Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as VP running mate, TV station reports

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Donald Trump’s Indiana campaign chairman Rex Early confirmed to FOX59 Trump has selected Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump will officially announce his vice presidential pick at 11 a.m. Friday.

Pence has emerged as the frontrunner this week. the TV station reports that Pence hosted Trump at the Governor’s Residence Wednesday morning following Trump’s rally in Westfield, Indiana Tuesday evening.

Trump also met with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) in Indianapolis Wednesday. Trump will formally announce his pick for vice president Friday, although word of his final selection could leak sometime Thursday.
