Thibodaux police officers arrested a couple living in a mobile home with 24 dogs and three cats.

Archie and Melinda Horsley had their children in the home living in unsanitary conditions with the animals, officers said.

Officers were called out to the home after neighbors complained about dogs roaming in the neighborhood.

The officers who entered the home say the floors were soaked in urine.

The police department says officers started removing the animals and found feces on the floor, walls and sheets of their children’s bed.

Many of the animals were malnourished, officers said.

The animals are now at the Lafourche Animal Shelter.

The Horsley’s are charged with cruelty to juveniles and 27 counts of cruelty to animals.
