NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) —  Saints fan favorite Steve Gleason is hoping to help New Orleans improve its hurricane evacuation plan.  Gleason is participating in a fundraiser to add lights to the 15 Evacuspot sculptures stationed around the city.

The sculptures designate areas where, in the event of a mandatory evacuation, people who need a ride to the safety of a shelter can go.  Buses pick up the people and take them to the Union Passenger Terminal on Loyola Avenue.

Organizers of the fundraiser are using the crowdfunding Indiegogo website.

Gleason himself is providing some of the perks for donors!  The campaign hopes to raise $25,000.
