BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) – State education leaders have come with a plan to get all preschoolers on the same page.

Starting next year, childcare providers will have a unified process for obtaining a license. There will be a system in place to ensure all teachers have the necessary training and credentials and that they follow the program.

The state will also grade facilities on the quality of teaching and childcare, so parents can see how their child’s school measures up.

And, the enrollment process will be simplified, allowing parents applying to several programs to use just one application.
