NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – More bad news for Louisiana schools. USA Today gives Louisiana’s background checks on teachers a big fat F.

According to the report, they looked at education protocols in every state and found that many states do a haphazard job of screening teacher’s backgrounds — for both misconduct in the classroom and criminal activity.

13 states, including Louisiana, got an F, for having a weak screening process and a lack of record-keeping for teacher misconduct allowing bad teachers to move into new schools without anyone knowing their disciplinary records.
