UPDATE: Postal Service restores delivery in select Louisiana zip codes due to Hurricane Ida

UPDATE- USPS has announced the resumption of mail delivery and retail operations in the 705-708 ZIP code areas. However, because of hurricane damage and safety concerns, mail facilities in the 700, 701, 703, and 704 ZIP code areas remain closed.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The United States Postal Service is temporarily suspending mail delivery and retail center operations within the following 3-digit zip code areas until further notice due to Hurricane Ida.

Zip code areas include:

  • 700
  • 701
  • 703-708

The Postal Service will be monitoring conditions and working to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so. The USPS will continue to provide updates to keep the public informed about mail delivery and retail operations.
