NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – You don’t have to take that dreaded trip to the OMV just to cancel your license plate anymore. The state Office of Motor Vehicles has added a feature to its website that allows people to cancel the license plate on their vehicles without going to the OMV.
Customers will need to enter the VIN, plate number and zip code of the vehicle’s registered owner. After that, all you have to do is print a receipt and discard the license plate.
