UPDATE:  New Orleans Police Dept. says Anign Jordan has been found in New Orleans East.  We’re waiting to learn more details about her recovery.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD is asking for the public’s help finding a missing 11-year-old girl. Anign Jordan was last seen on May 4, 2016, at her guardian’s home on Congress Drive. She was wearing her Akili Academy school uniform.

Police said there was a miscommunication between family members and Anign’s guardian as to who she was staying with. The guardian told investigators they believed Anign was with her adult sister. It was several days before they were able to find the sister and realize that Anign was missing.

She is not believed to be a runaway.

Anign is pictured above. She is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses and an Akili Academy school uniform, which is a dark blue polo-style shirt and khaki skirt.

Anyone having any information as to the whereabouts of Anign Keiaya Jordan should immediately contact Investigator Jim O’Hern with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office at 504-427-4174 or Sgt. Stacey Pearson with the Louisiana State Police/Louisiana Clearinghouse for Missing & Exploited Children at 337-962-2605 or stacey.pearson@la.gov.
