New Orleans (WGNO)–Say hello to one of New Orleans best teachers!

Sylvia Crier of McDonogh 35 got the annual New Orleans Excellence in Teaching award on National Teacher Appreciation Day.

The award recognizes teachers whose contribution rarely make headlines, but whose impact endures long after the students leave the classroom.

And Ms. Crier has taught the children of New Orleans for more than 51 years.
