NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Loyola University President Rev. Kevin Wildes has confirmed that an international business sophomore was found dead in his bedroom in Cabra Hall Thursday night.

According to the Maroon, the campus newspaper, Juliano Mastroianni, known as “Africa” around campus was found around 9:15 p.m. in his bedroom on the 4th floor of Cabra Hall.

The Orleans Parish Coroner arrived a short time later, pronounced Mastroianni dead.

No other information is being released about the death at this time.

The University will offer a Mass on Friday in Mastroianni’s honor and is in the process of planning a memorial.
