Lafourche Sheriff: Drunk woman from Thibodaux injures child

Thibodaux, La. -(WGNO)- The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 43-year-old Thibodaux woman after they say she injured a child.

Deputies were called to a home in the 1400 block of Park Drive around 12:30 a.m. Thursday after a complaint that Patricia Gaudet was drunk and causing a disturbance.

Deputies say that when they arrived at the home, they found evidence that Gaudet was drunk.

Upon further investigation, they say that Gaudet had fallen out of a chair while holding a child, causing the child’s head to strike a kitchen counter.

EMS was called to check the child out as a precaution.

Deputies say that when they tried to arrest Gaudet, she became violent.

Gaudet was taken into custody and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was booked with Disturbing the Peace, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, as well as Cruelty to a Juvenile. Her bond is set at $6,500.
