METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – July 4 is always a big day at the “shrine on airline,” and this Independence Day, the Zephyrs are celebrating with fireworks after their game.

LBJ sat down with Zephyrs General Manager Cookie Rojas to get the latest happenings on our favorite Minor League Baseball team.

“It should be a great, patriotic spectacular for everyone to enjoy after the game, and on a charitable note, we’re going to be raising some funds for the young man from Metairie that was in the Orlando shooting.”

After the 4th, the circus will be at the ballpark on July 6. Attendees will get to meet circus clowns – and the ringmaster!

Folks who bring their Zephyrs tickets to the circus will get a discount.

And it’s not too late to vote on the new team name for the Zephyrs! It’s been narrowed down to eight. Click here to vote.
