NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Cuban coffee is coming to the U.S. for the first time in more than 50 years. reports that Nespresso will be the first company to import coffee from Cuba. This comes after the U.S. has begun easing trade relations with the communist Caribbean nation.

Coffee is the first Cuban product that will hit store shelves in the U.S.

The coffee will be available for people who own Nespresso home brewers, which are similar to the Keurig coffee and espresso machines that are more popular in the United States.

On Wednesday, June 22, the Louisiana Alliance for Cuba is hosting a one-day summit breaking down how to do business in Cuba. The summit is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Gallier Hall.
