NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Since hurricane Katrina, Camp Restore has had 25,000 volunteers visit the greater New Orleans area.

Camp Restore celebrated Tuesday, March 24 with their most recent volunteers. The Christian based volunteer organization sent young people to the Lower Ninth Ward, Harahan, Metairie and New Orleans to meet with locals.

Video journalist Alyson Titkemeyer met with a group at the Lower Ninth Ward Senior Center. It’s surprising just want can be learned through talking with people over a simple Bingo game.
