3 people killed in Port Sulphur car crash overnight

PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) – Plaquemines Parish sheriff’s deputies say the bodies of three people were found inside a burned car that had crashed in Port Sulphur.

Deputies responded to a car crash just before 2 a.m., Thursday, in the 30400 block of Plaquemines Parish Highway 11. The area is known to locals as Lincoln’s Curve, according to deputies.

When first responders got to the scene they found a 2012 Jaguar XF covered in flames. The Plaquemines Parish Fire Department put out the flames. That’s when first responders saw the bodies.

The victims’ identities have not been released pending an autopsy by the coroner’s office.

Louisiana State Police also responded to the scene of the accident. They are investigating the case, according to deputies.
