Items on the August 15, 2020 ballot that directly affect the health, safety and welfare of our community include:

- The renewal of the existing East Bank Consolidated Fire Department Millage for voters on the east bank of Jefferson Parish. This renewal funds more than 90% of the total operating costs of the department or Fire District 1. It is not a new tax, just a continuation of what residents have already been paying.
- The renewal of the existing Solid Waste Disposal Millage for voters in Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte. This renewal covers operating costs for solid waste disposal, including storm debris collection, street sweeping, parade cleanup and landfill operations.
