It’s been five years since Jessica Hawk was brutally murdered inside her Bywater home.  Over the years, her family has made several trips here from Ohio to ask for the public’s help to solve the case.

“Year after year, knowing somebody is out there that committed such a brutal crime on a person you love, and a great friend, it just tears you up every day,” said Brandon Hawk, Jessica’s brother.

Wednesday afternoon, the family arrived at a memorial garden along the neutral ground on St Claude Avenue to once again ask for help.  The garden includes everything from plants to poetry on plaques.

“If people want to come enjoy something, see who my sister was, this is where you come, Brandon told WGNO News.

There’s a $25,000 reward in the case.  A couple of years ago, family members hoped a pair of billboards publicizing the reward would bring in a tip to solve the case.  But it didn’t, and police say they are out of leads.

Anyone with information on the murder of Jessica Hawk in August of 2008 should call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
