NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – He’s 92 years old.  He’s WWII veteran Arthur Smith.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood gets him to tell the story of his service in the Navy.

Back in the 40’s, Arthur Smith was a sailor about one of the PT boats fighting the Nazis.  That was the time when fear became thrill, Smith says to Wild Bill.

Arthur Smith traveled to New Orleans to see how the The National WWII Museum restored PT-305.  It’s a boat similar to the one Arthur Smith was on during the war.

The boat will be ready to look at and ride on next year.

When Arthur Smith got to meet some of the men who volunteered to restore the PT-305, he said, they’ve got great hearts.

The same heart, he says, that he has.
