MINNEAPOLIS — Prince has died at 57.
Prince’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park residence in Minnesota early Thursday.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” said his publicist Yvette Noel-Schure.
Earlier Thursday, police said they were investigating a death at the Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. They responded to a medical call and found the singer unresponsive in an elevator, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said. Authorities responded to a medical call at 9:43 a.m. CT.
Celebrities react to Prince’s death
In early April, Prince said he wasn’t feeling well, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and canceled at least one concert in the city. On April 15, he took the stage in Atlanta to perform. After that concert, the singer’s plane made an emergency landing in Illinois. He had symptoms of a bad flu, his representative told TMZ.
