Earlier Thursday, police said they were investigating a death at the Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. They responded to a medical call and found the singer unresponsive in an elevator, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said. Authorities responded to a medical call at 9:43 a.m. CT. Celebrities react to Prince’s death In early April, Prince said he wasn’t feeling well, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and canceled at least one concert in the city. On April 15, he took the stage in Atlanta to perform. After that concert, the singer’s plane made an emergency landing in Illinois. He had symptoms of a bad flu, his representative told TMZ.
