METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) - Did you look forward to seeing the Christmas lights at Al Copeland's house every year?

Fret not, you can still see $50,000 worth of Copeland's Christmas cheer at Christmas in the Park, happening now through Dec. 30 at Lafreniere Park.

There have been more light displays added since Copeland's family donated all the Christmas lights in 2008, and there are activities for children - including rides on the carousel and a free snow day Dec. 10 in which 96,000 pounds of artificial snow will be hauled into the park.

Admission is $5 per vehicle, and the entrance is on the West Napoleon Avenue access gate of the park.  Children's Carousel open will also be open nightly  for $1 per child.

The tours are open Sunday thru Thursday from dusk until 9:45 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from dusk until 11:45.
