NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)-  New Orleans is the festival capital of the universe.

If you miss one festival, no need to worry.  There's probably another one starting in the next five minutes.

That's what WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood discovered when he went to Xavier University.

It's called a Food Rave.  It's the chance for students to sample and taste test foods from around the world.  Chefs from around New Orleans pair with Xavier students to serve up classic cuisine.

And it's also the chance to meet a culinary super star.  She's Leah Chase.

She's the matriarch of Dooky Chase's Restaurant in New Orleans.

Talk about culinary history.  Here's a little.

Dooky Chase's Restaurant opened in 1941.  It was just a little sandwich shop.  And a place to buy lottery tickets.  Later it became the thriving, delicious restaurant that it still is in the Treme neighborhood.

Leah Chase is a super star who has fed the super stars.

She's served her meals to President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush, Martin Luther King, Jr., Lena Horne, Hank Aaron, Quincy Jones and a menu of more famous names.

Wild Bill chats with Leah Chase about the history she's seen and the history she's created and is still creating.

She's known as the Queen of Creole Cuisine.

Long may she wear the crown!
