Graffiti fighter Fred Radtke has his hands full with a job this week.  He’s working at the Plaza skyscraper, removing paint five stories in the air.

Radtke says it’s not the height that makes this job difficult; it’s the paint.  He says the vandals appeared to used the same yellow paint that workers use to mark stripes on parking lots.  He says it’s especially sticky and durable.

Radtke says he once removed graffiti from the now-demolished Plaza Hotel on Canal Street.  He says that job was 22 stories in the air.

He plans to be back at the Plaza building at least one more day this week.
