NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Anthony Horton in connection with a shooting that happened Monday in the 4400 block of Skyview Drive.

At about 10:50 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers received a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 4400 block of Flite Street. When they got there, the officers observed a male victim standing outside of the location with a white towel wrapped around his right arm.

At that point, the officers spoke with the victim, who said that while he was outside of a friend’s residence on Skyview Drive, an altercation ensued between he and his friend’s brother, later identified as Horton. During the course of the altercation, the victim said, Horton pushed the victim in the face, which resulted in the victim punching the suspect. As the victim ran away, he told police, Horton brandished a handgun and fired several shots at the victim, striking him in the forearm.

The victim positively identified Horton as the person that shot him.
