UPDATE 1/9/2021: On Saturday, NOPD reported the arrest of two suspects accused of being involved in a shooting that happened on October 5.
NOPD arrested 19-year-old Jerry Rodriguez and 22-year-old Olivia Turner in connection to a shooting that happened at the intersection of Commerce and Girod streets.
According to police, at about 11:30 p.m. on October 5, a man and woman reportedly heard gunfire and realized they had been struck.
The man had sustained gunshot wounds to the legs and arrived at a local hospital on his own, while the woman suffered from a gunshot wound to the foot. the woman was taken to the hospital by EMS.
Through investigation, Eighth District detectives developed and positively identified both Rodriguez and Turner as suspects in this incident. The two were arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. Rodriguez was booked on two counts of aggravated second-degree battery, while Turner was booked on two counts of principal to aggravated second-degree battery.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — On Tuesday, the New Orleans Police Department began investigating a shooting that happened near the intersection of Girod and Tchoupitoulas streets.
According to police, a woman was shot in the foot.
WGNO had a crew on the scene.
