NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Hundreds came out to The Phoenix Bar Saturday to memorialize the fallen in what has become America's largest mass shooting to date.

49 people were shot and killed in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Several others were injured. The man police say is responsible,Omar Mateen, pledged his allegiance to ISIS before police took his life.

The New Orleans LGBT community gathered together to abolish this message of hatred and instead, replace it with hope, solidarity and love.

One woman crafted a dress of the victims, in an effort to honor their lives and tell their story.
