Multiple guns, electronics stolen from 25 National Guardsmen’s cars

FRANKLINTON, La. (WGNO) – Thieves broke into twenty-five Louisiana National Guardsmen’s cars over the weekend stealing multiple guns and electronics, along with personal items. Franklinton police say they were notified on Monday (July 25) of the thefts.

Officials say the guardsmen were training at various locations, mostly in Slidell for the entire weekend and were away from their cars which were parked in a gated, lit, and patrolled lot at the Franklinton National Guard Armory/Readiness Center.

Aside from the theft, authorities estimate the vehicles received about $25,000 worth of damage.
