During Tuesday's press conference, City Councilmember Susan Guidry is asking "how will you go blue?"

The Director of the Officer Assistance Program, Ceclie Tebo says she knows "intimately what they deal with everyday and the tremendous sacrifices they and their families make on our behalf. it is time to get our community behind our blue."

City Councilmember Jason Williams says "every time one of them leaves home, you've got a family hoping that that man or woman with the police department comes home safe that day."

NOPD Chief Michael Harrison says "It really makes officers feel good when you show your support so I thank you, I thank everybody whose with us. And if you really want to encourage police officers, show us support on "Geaux Blue Day," but everyday."
