UPDATE: Clark High School teacher arrested on sex charges involving a juvenile

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WGNO) – The NOPD has arrested 32-year-old Dominic Lewis, a former teacher at Joseph S. Clark High School on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

He is facing two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and an outstanding warrant.

NOPD detectives learned last week (Oct. 16, 2014), Lewis and a 16-year-old student were exchanging inappropriate text messages.

“Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Lewis and the female student were engaged in a sexual relationship,” the NOPD said in a statement.

Lewis was terminated from Joseph S. Clark High School prior to his arrest on Thursday night.

He is currently being held without bond in Orleans Parish Prison.
