(WGNO) — Check out the surveillance video from just two of the most recent car burglaries in New Orleans.  It’s easy to see why criminals target cars because drivers often leave them unlocked and unattended.

The first case is from early in the morning on August 27.  Surveillance video shows a man try the doors on parked cars on Oxford Place in Algiers.  You also get a pretty clear view of him rummaging through one while looking for valuables.  In this case, police say the man doesn’t appear to see anything he wanted and left empty-handed.  But they say he also burglarized a car later that same afternoon on the same street.

The second case also happened in Algiers.  Police released the video on August 29.  It shows three young men on bicycles in the 2000 block of Greenspoint Drive.  The video shows the trio ride up and quickly but casually and begin going through two cars looking for valuables.  At least one of the thieves appears to leave with a briefcase.
