NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Heads up chicken lovers! Raising Cane’s is set to open its 20th restaurant at 4740 Chef Menteur Highway in Gentilly. This is Cane’s fourth restaurant to open in Orleans Parish this year, and the company’s 60th Cane’s in Louisiana; 202nd nationwide. The first 100 dine-in customers will receive a free commemorative New Orleans Cane’s T-shirt and a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit. “It’s been an exciting year of growth here in New Orleans, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to open our 20th local restaurant this week,” said Derrick Dunne, Area Director for the New Orleans and Greater New Orleans area. “We’re so grateful that this city has embraced Raising Cane’s, and we’re proud to do our part to give back to worthy organizations all across the region. There’s no place like home!” The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, with doors opening at 10 a.m. Breast Cancer Awareness Month In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all Jefferson and Orleans Parish Raising Cane’s restaurants will be donating 15 percent of net sales from ice tea and lemonade jugs purchases all month long to the Ochsner Cancer Institute. All Northshore, Houma and Thibodeaux restaurants will donate their proceeds to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
