NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – In New Orleans when it comes to drinks, we have Hurricanes, Hand Grenades, Sazeracs to name a few, but there’s a new alcohol-free drink in town that’s sure to get you feeling like a billionaire, all because of the name.

News with a Twist Reporter Kenny Lopez gets to taste the “Oprah Punch” at Chicken & Watermelon.

This may just be your new favorite drink of the summer!

You guessed it…”The Oprah Punch” is lovingly named after media mogul, Oprah Winfrey.

“It’s a billionaire drink.  Come here to be a billionaire, if you want to be a billionaire, if you drink enough, you may just get there,”  Skip Nicholas, owner of Chicken & Watermelon, said.

Chicken & Watermelon is the place where you can find the “Oprah Punch,” which is like a lemonade made with raspberries and fresh lemons.  So how did it get its name?

“Everyone loves and respects Oprah.  I admire Oprah, and wish I could be Oprah,” he said.

Although the “Oprah Punch” is alcohol-free, you can always head next door to Jazz Daiquiris and ask them to punch it up!

Skip Nicholas says that the “Oprah Punch” is a hit with customers and he feels that Oprah would fall crazy in love with her namesake punch.

“Its a new thing.  You already have tried Cokes and Gatorades.  Try the new thing, the ‘Oprah Punch.’  We’re trying to do billionaire business here,” he said.

And it won’t cost you anywhere near a billion bucks to drink!

“Only like one or two dollars,” he said.

We have a feeling if Oprah visited New Orleans and came to Chicken & Watermelon that she just might buy everyone an “Oprah Punch.”

You get an Oprah Punch!  You get and Oprah Punch!  You get an Oprah Punch!
