NOPD Radio Traffic From Officer Shooting Obtained

WGNO News obtained the NOPD’s police radio traffic from the shooting of a New Orleans police officer Saturday morning.

In the recording you can hear a former Jefferson Parish deputy who was in the Dollar General at the time ask the dispatcher for help.

Wednesday morning the N.O.P.D. released a sketch of the man wanted for questioning in the shooting Officer John Passaro.

They say the man is between 29 and 31-years-old.

The man was also seen at a Bywater bus stop on the corner of Poland and St. Claude Avenues.

Tuesday the N.O.P.D. said Passaro was in intensive care but in good spirits.

He was shot while responding to a robbery in progress at the Dollar General on St. Claude Avenue.

Police say the shooter was carrying a drawstring bag with a Nike logo on it.
