NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - If it's Monday, then red beans and rice are on the menu.  In New Orleans, it's tradition. It's just what everybody expects for a Monday meal.

Now, red beans and rice are served up with a twist.

It's a red beans and rice burger.   And it's on the menu only at.

Avery's is a family owned and operated restaurant.  The owners and operators are Justin and Christy Pitard.  The Pitards opened Avery's back in 2012.  They named it after their daughter.

And you guessed it, her name is Avery.

The story of how the red beans and rice burger arrived is just as interesting.  It's all because of a New Orleans lawyer named Stanislov "Stas" Moroz.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood is here to tell you that story.

Avery's on Tulane is located at 2510 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA  70119.  For a map and directions on how to get there from where you are,  just click here.

Avery's on Tulane is closed on Sundays.
