NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) –  He’s Chef Eric Damidot.  And he’s a busy guy.

In fact, everybody at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans is busy.

The kitchen is chaos.  It’s a three-ring food circus with Chef Eric as ringmaster.

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood says it’s because the French chef and his New Orleans staff are doing their part of the menu for the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience.

The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience is one of the premiere events in the New Orleans.

It’s the best place to eat and drink in the city that does both better than any, anywhere.

It’s the 24th year for the festival.  Hundreds of wineries and restaurants participate.

Chef Eric Damidot, executive chef from Hyatt Regency New Orleans, has five dishes on his his menu.  And his five dishes will feed 5,000.  Listen to Chef Eric tell Wild Bill what all the dishes are.

A couple of the dishes are Gold winners from the the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience.  The Gold award is the festival’s version of the Oscar.  One dish is scallops in their shells.  The other dish is a dessert.  It’s a pastry shell filled with ice cream and chocolate.

Watch what happens when Wild Bill asks Chef Eric what one of these sweets tastes like.

They’ll be gobbled up by more than 10,000 people this weekend.
