It’s one of the biggest TV comebacks since the 70s. The remake mini tv series Roots will simulcast on A & E, Lifetime, and History on Monday night at 8/9c.

New Orleans was the main location for the production including parts of City Park. Malachi Kirby stars as Kunta Kinte while Laurence Fishburne plays the role of Alex Haley.

Free State of Jones

The biography drama stars Oscar Award winner Mathew McConaughey and delivers a story about a poor farmer from Mississippi leading a group of rebels during the civil war.

The film was shot in multiple locations in and around the New Orleans area including Jones County, Mississippi, The Buckner Mansion, and the Saint Bernard Parish Library.
