NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Oh, the places you’ll go this weekend! Anne Cutler gives us the low-down on this weekend’s fairs, festivals, and events to check out around New Orleans.

As Dr. Suess would say, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose!” And we’re choosing to steer ourselves over to the Angela King Gallery for a special Dr. Seuss exhibit to honor the 25th anniversary of “Oh, The Places You’ll Go.” This exhibit will be open until June 26, 2016.

Starting on Friday night is the 43rd Annual Greek Festival located at the Holy Trinity Greek Cathedral on the Banks of Bayou St John. Head over to eat traditional Greek food, to climb Mount Olympus and to watch traditional Hellenic dances. On Sunday admission is free when you come wearing a toga!

One of the premiere events in the Big Easy, the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience is this weekend. Hundreds of local restaurants and wineries are participating this year. Tickets for meals, seminars, tastings and the whole event are available online.

The Treme and Seventh Ward Arts and Culture Festival is also going on this weekend, with seminars, panels and even a bar crawl on the agenda. Located in Congo Square, head to their websites for tickets to each event.

Another festival that you don’t want to miss this weekend is the Slidell Jazz and Blues Festival. This fest will feature an eclectic mix of local musicians, chefs and artists. It begins at noon and will be going on until 10 p.m.
