NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Anne Cutler is giving us the low-down on fairs, festivals, and events happening this weekend.

Saturday, head to Lafayette Square for the inaugural Beignet Fest for live music, a kids village, and fifteen different restaurants will serve more than twenty dishes based on the iconic dessert! The fest is free and open to the public.

All weekend long you can hang out at the 9th annual GentillyFest! It all starts with an evening under the stars, then continues with a ton of great musicians, delicious food and even a video gaming center for kids. The event will be held at the Pontchartrain park playground!

What do you get when you combine Bike Easy, Lagniappe Brass Band and hundreds of cyclists? The Gentilly bicycle second line! On Sunday, take the 8-mile ride from Pontchartrain Park to Gentilly Fest, all you need is a bike!

Lace up for a purpose at the New Orleans UNCF  “Walk for Education” on Saturday! More than 200 supporters are expected to come together at Audubon Park to celebrate education! It’s an all-day event full of fun, so bring the whole family!
