  • Man killed on porch in Lower 9th Ward

    New Orleans – Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on a porch in the Lower 9th Ward. Officers were called to the 900 block of Alabo Street in the Holy Cross neighborhood just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday. They found a 27-year-old man lying on a porch. He had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.

    MARRERO – Deputies are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says the victim was shot around 4 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Haydel Dr. A description of the shooter has not been released.

    New Orleans – Police are looking to obtain a DNA sample from a person of interest in a 2017 shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded in the 7th Ward.   • Man’s body found in Bayou Lafourche with arms, legs tied with rope

    LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. – The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a Galliano man’s body was found in Bayou Lafourche with the arms and legs bound by rope. Detectives have identified the victim as 69-year-old Terry Angelle.     New Orleans – The NOPD is investigating a shooting in New Orleans East that left a man wounded. Officers were called to the intersection of Dwyer and Foch Roads after 1 a.m. Wednesday. A male victim was taken to the hospital by EMS. No word on his condition.

  • 4-year-old girl dies in accidental shooting in Chalmette

    CHALMETTE, La.– The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accidental shooting death of a four-year-old girl. Deputies were called to a home in 500 block of Pierre Street in Chalmette around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and found a girl who had been shot.  She was taken to University Medical Center where she later died. A handgun believed to be used in the shooting was found. Sheriff James Pohlmann says the shooting appears to be accidental.

    Man stabbed to death in Lower Ninth Ward

    New Orleans – Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in the Lower Ninth Ward. Officers were called to the 2400 block of Forstall Street just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday. They found a 33-year-old man in the grassy area of a vacant lot, stabbed multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.     New Orleans – Police are looking for a teenager reported missing from Algiers. Police say Zanaya Hayes, 17, was last seen by a relative on June 9 around 7:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Mansfield Drive. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since then.
