Tulane head coach Willie Fritz said several injuries to returning players will likely push back the start of 2017 spring football practice.

Fritz made his remarks at his year end football press conference Tuesday at Yulman Stadium.

Tulane won its season finale for the first time since the 2003 season. Tulane won at Connecticut, 38-13 to finish 4-8 on the season.

Fritz said Wednesday morning he will announce a group of players who will join the Tulane football team as mid-semester enrollees.

Fritz said the Tulane football team needs more numbers, for a very good reason.

Tulane was 2-0 when leading at halftime in the 2016 season. The Green Wave was 1-7 when trailing at the half.
