NOPD officer shoots at, misses Uptown man

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – An NOPD officer shot at and missed an armed man while responding to reports of a possible rape last night.

The incident happened in the 3800 block of Nashville Avenue shortly after midnight, according to the NOPD.

The unnamed officer was greeted at the door of the residence by a man armed with a gun.

The officer ordered the man to drop his gun, but the man refused, turning toward the officer, who then fired one shot from his own gun.

The officer missed. No injuries were reported from the incident.
