NOPD looking for woman who stabbed man she met on social media

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A meeting arranged on social media ended with a stabbing and an attempted carjacking.

According to a New Orleans Police Department press release, an unidentified man set up a meeting with a woman he met over social media on October 23.

The man picked up the woman outside of an apartment complex on North Villere Street and Independence Street.

The pair drove to a nearby spot in the victim’s car before the woman took out a knife and began stabbing the man.

When the man got out of his car to get help, the stabbing suspect attempted to drive away, but nearby witnesses stopped her.

The suspect then fled on foot, according to the report.

There was no word on the condition of the stabbing victim. The NOPD is asking anyone with information on this case to contact Seventh District detectives at (504) 658-6070.
