NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) -
Author Lee Child
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back premiered Sunday night at the AMC in Elmwood. News With a Twist sat down with Lee Child, the author of the popular Jack Reacher books the movie series is based on, to get his take on filming in New Orleans.
For Lee Child, the decision to shoot in the Big Easy came down to one simple factor.
"We needed a good looking city," he said.
While shooting in New Orleans, Child quickly figured out what his favorite restaurants were, with Commander's Palace and The Crystal Room at Le Pavillon Hotel topping his list of favorites in the city.
Child also has something new for his fans. A new book he's written is coming to the U.S. on November 7th called "Jack Reacher: Night School."
Winners of the New Orleans Film Festival
Filmmakers from as far as Brazil to France arrived at Gallier Hall Sunday morning to see if their film won an award at the New Orleans Film Festival.
Each year the NOFF gives awards to films in seven different categories.
In 2015 the total value was over $80,000 in camera packages, film stock, cash prizes and software.
