Tigers roar in second half, rout USM 45-10

It was not the kind of start LSU was hoping for, tied with 25 point underdog Southern Miss at the half.

But, the 25th ranked Tigers finished. LSU scored 28 points in the third quarter on the way to a 45-10 pasting of the Golden Eagles.

In the second half, Danny Etling threw touchdown passes of 80 yards to DJ Chark, and 63 and 23 yards to Malachi Dupre. Running back Derrius Guice ran for touchdowns of 61 and 20 yards.

What has coach Ed Orgeron’s message at halftime?

Etling was 11 of 18 passing for 276 yards. Guice ran 16 times for 162 yards.

The LSU defense held Southern Miss to 242 total yards.
